This is the story of my '64 Vespa 150 - how it became mine and how it has given me a new vespatude. I'll be recording the neat places I visit, the different things I do to make the Vespa my own, and - oh yeah - those reactions I get from both friends and strangers.

Vespa at work
Things are pretty crowded on campus. One of the central parking lots is closed as a new parking garage is being built in that space. Like most college campuses traffic and parking was already quite interesting. Now it is a mess.

Enter the Vespa. I don't ever have to worry about a parking spot. There are numerous designated motorcycle parking spots on campus. Plus, because there are not many scooters on campus, they have been given a little more leeway on parking. In the picture you below, you can see Heebie joining a number of the bicycles parked near my office.

When it comes to parking in town, I'm not sure what the options are. I'll have to experiment. There are no designated parking areas for scooters or motorcycles. I have seen motorcycles parked in regular car spots. I have seen some scooters (very few of them, because there aren't that many around) parked in interesting places -- edges of sidewalks and it the left over spaces at the end of angled parking spaces.

I am so pleased that your scooter is running. She is a real beauty!

I have found both parking and traffic to be a breeze on my Vespas. However, when it comes to parking I am a little cautious of parking just anywhere. I have heard about car drivers backing into a Vespa squeezed into a tight spot...

My favourites spot in which to park at the local mall is in the Harley Davidson bays outside of the Harley shop. They laugh and point, but in their hearts they wish they had a Vespa! Ha Ha!

I look forward to seeing more pictures and hearing more great stories about your adventures.

PS. I take it that you're not using the sidecar at the moment?

Hi...not sure of the status of this blog but noticed something from a February 2006 posting about your rear light not working if the brake light was on.
I'm having a similiar problem with my 1968 150 Super. Headlight working fine...if it is on, brake light wobn't work. Turn headlight off, brake light works fine. Did you get to the bottom of your similiar problem?

I have just bought a super 150, looks like it came from overseas as well. Having a lot of the same smaller issues and some bigger ones as you and others. Is this blog still active. I have the 4th gear problem, in that i cannot find it, and the brake light issue, tail light issue. my email is if anyone is still reading and has suggestions.
