Why would you need to pull the tank to replace the clutch cable. Perhaps I misunderstood your last post, but I've always replaced clutch cables by removing the headset lever and speedo, removing the inner, running a 12-foot inner cable with a pinchbolt on one end through the new outer and the old outer, and then pulling the old outer out (and the new outer in) in one action. Then you can reposition the outer in the headset and thread in the new inner. Should take about 10 minutes total.

I had to replace the rear wheel on my little Vespa... It still had the original tyres on it, the back one eventualy perished.

I have just put new track shoes on my PX200. My VLB 150 Sprint (the old girl from 1968) is now not only in need of some bodyword, but something has gone wrong in the engine. I think that I may have a blockage in the fuel line. It takes ages to start (only starting with a LOOOONG push), then runs for a few minutes before cutting out. At first I thought it may be the spark plug, so I replaced it. I also cleaned out the Carb, but neither has made a difference. As soon as I have some time I need to figure out how check the fuel line and do so. Oh, and my speedo also stopped working on the VLB.... So, all in all, the PX is running great, the VLB (which is my favourite) is not doing so well.

She doesn't look quite as classic as your Vespa, but she sure looks great!

I was hoping to get some insight about restored vintage vespas from indonesia. I was told they are not really 'vespas' but knockoffs, not authentic. I have a 1962 and a 1964 that were restored in Bali and they look and drive great. Any help would be appreciated. I want to sell one of them, but do not want to mis-represent what I am selling.

Frankly, I would not purchase your Vespa from Indonesia. I'm not sure you are communicating with the same group I did, but I simply don't trust the original quality of these bikes.
