This is the story of my '64 Vespa 150 - how it became mine and how it has given me a new vespatude. I'll be recording the neat places I visit, the different things I do to make the Vespa my own, and - oh yeah - those reactions I get from both friends and strangers.

Is there an enclosed Vespa?
Today is my first day with rain since I decided to see how long I could go using my Vespa as my daily driver. As I headed off to work this morning it was a very soft rain. I put on my Lands End water resistant jacket. It is really cool. It folds up into a little pouch that fits great in my glovebox. I didn't cover my legs, though I did put a towel down between my feet to use later for wiping off water.

Things worked out pretty well. My legs really didn't get that wet - though I'm sure in a driving rain that wouldn't be the case. All in all I got to the office pretty dry. We'll see what happens for the rest of the day! I have to go vote in the primary election and also have a lunch appointment downtown. I'm glad its raining - I just hope it doesn't pour while I'm out there!

How do you stay dry when you ride? What are your wet time driving secrets?

It has now been more than a week since I started driving the Vespa everyday. Sunday was the only day I didn't drive. The whole family went to church together and then to a picnic. We couldn't all fit on the Vespa! Yesterday, I also had to use the Suburban to go get a sheet of plywood for a project. Had I tried to transport that on my Vespa, I would have gone airborne!

Oh, one final thing for this morning. I'm VERY close to having the engine pixel page completed! You can actually pre-purchase your pixel space now. I have not finished the error handling, so make sure you fill out the form completely. I'm getting excited!
